About the event
Modern Ballet Graduation Performances 2024
This music was composed for the ballet show “Awakening the Forge” as part of the “Modern Ballet Graduation Performances 2024 | Royal Conservatoire of Scotland”, on the 16-18th of May, New Athenaeum Theatre, Glasgow.
The village Blacksmith, Gowan, fails his community. His wife, Ailia tries hard to keep the forge working, but he is driven away by jealousy of her skill and his evil conscience. Ailia left lost and alone, is encouraged by the villagers to assume the role of the blacksmith. The Spirits of the Flames re-ignite her self-belief, enabling her to light up the forge. Triumphant in her role, Ailia is finally reunited with her husband as the villagers celebrate.
