The First Light - for Percussion and Chamber Ensemble
Cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation is the afterglow of the Big Bang, pervading the entire universe. After the Big Bang, when the universe had cooled down enough for protons and electrons to combine, the ‘first light’ emerged in our universe. This event is called recombination. The photons have cooled down over billions of years, creating the CMB radiation that we detect today. The CMB today represents the earliest moment in the universe's history that we can observe directly. This first gleam of light embarked from the looming origin, journeying across boundless spacetimes, to now blossom into an omnipresent noise of life and vibrance.
